A large South African pipeline, port, and rail firm, Transnet SOC Ltd is headquartered in Johannesburg’s Carlton Center.
On April 1st, 1990, the limited company was established.

When Transnet’s then-single port division, Portnet, was split into operations and landlord businesses, namely, SAPO (Transnet port terminals) and National Port Authority, Transnet port terminals were created in 2000. (TNPA).
Transnet Pipelines
Formerly known as Petronet, is currently providing transportation services for petroleum and gas products over variable distances to two important industries (fuel and gas).
Transnet Freight Rail
The largest division of Transnet is Transnet Freight Rail, formerly Spoornet.
It is a corporation that specializes in moving freight over long distances by train. It is the largest government department instead of the firm outside of the United States and India.

With regard to freight wagons, mainline and suburban coaches, diesel and electric locomotives, as well as wheels, rotating machines, rolling stock equipment, castings auxiliary equipment, and services, Transnet Engineering is committed to in-service maintenance, repair, upgrade, conversion, and manufacture.
