So, confirmed for the month of August, you can already know the day you will receive your money. To find out the exact day of your payment, you only need to know your date of birth and no additional information.
Although the formula for knowing the date of receipt is repeated every month, the days are not the same. If you receive any kind of benefit, stay tuned for the dates so you don’t miss any receipts.
If you want to know when the August benefits will be sent, read on!
The August Social Security schedule was defined as follows:
- For those born between the 1st-10th of the month, your payment is distributed on Wed, Aug. 10.
- For those born between the 11th-20th, your payment is distributed on Wed, Aug. 17.
- For those born between the 21st-31st, your payment is distributed on Wed, Aug. 24.
It is worth noting that if the amount received is not enough to cover all of your basic expenses, you may qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
The SSI program is intended for people with disabilities that prevent them from working, whether adults or children. The beneficiary receives a monthly fee if you meet the financial qualifications required by the SSI. The program is also available to seniors over 65 with limited income and financial resources.
If you started getting Social Security before May 1997, or are getting Social Security and SSI, you will get your Social Security on August 3rd and SSI on August 1st.
The median amount of Social Security in the United States is $1,1657 but can go up to $4,194. The average amount paid for the SSI benefit is $621 to $841 per month.

Many people complain that they have not received their benefits paid on the given date, and the main reason for this is that beneficiaries change their address or their bank information and forget to update their SSA, which makes it impossible to pay properly.
Therefore, always remember to update your data and check that they are all correct. If the data is adequate, SSA recommends that you wait up to three days to contact the agency.
To ensure that retirees do not lose their purchasing power over time, each year COLA increases the amount of Social Security benefit payments. However, this increase is annual, which means that the amount does not increase from one month to the next. So, in August 2022, no extra money will be sent, just your usual monthly benefit.
That is, to have an increase in the value of your benefit, you will have to wait until 2023. From January onwards you will already receive the adjusted amount.
What defines the exact time you receive your benefit in your account will depend on the bank’s policy. In general, most banks deliver Social Security checks between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Some banks also deposit checks as soon as they receive the wire transfer. When done this way, you can receive your benefit a few days before the scheduled date.
To find out exactly what the payment policy is, contact your bank.
If your Social Security benefit date has passed and you haven’t received your money, there are a few things you can do to find out what happened.
The first step is to call your bank and ask if there was a problem with depositing your payment. If the bank informs that no delay has occurred, it is best to contact the Social Security Administration directly at 800.772.1213.
As stated earlier, the Administration suggests that you wait up to three days to see if the deposit will be made.
Alternatively, you can contact or go to your local Social Security office to ask about your missing deposit check. Don’t worry, just do a little research and you’ll find out what happened to your Social Security benefit and you’ll be able to receive it.
