Canada is the largest nation in the Western Hemisphere and, after Russia, the second largest nation on Earth. It has a single border with the United States of America.

Yes, there is a Queen/King of Canada. The same as Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (now King Charles III). That’s because Canada, a former British Empire colony, is now a part of the British Commonwealth.

Even though Canada achieved self-government in 1867, there was still a long way to go before it was truly independent.

In Snag, Yukon, it was -63°C (-81.4°F) at the time.

 In Eureka, Nunavut, the average annual temperature is -19.7 °C (-3.5 °F), making it the coldest place in Canada. Wow.

Uncommon knowledge about Canada is that it is home to the only walled city on the entire continent, north of Mexico.

However, the city walls of Quebec were constructed in the 17th century.

 The walls were then improved upon after British forces had taken the city. They are now a UNESCO World Heritage site and are fairly well kept.

Mac and cheese are popular food in Canada. Or Kraft Dinner, as they like to call it.

That’s a result of the brand, as evidenced by the box and everything. Each year, around seven million of these boxes are sold throughout the world, with Canada purchasing a sizable portion of them or roughly 1.7 million Kraft Dinner boxes.

Contrary to popular belief, Canadians consume mac & cheese at a rate of about 55% higher than their southern neighbors.
